When I write a piece to be delivered publicly, I try to start a draft long before I do it because I know that when I return to re-read it with fresh eyes, huge chunks of brilliant diversions will be brutally deleted!
Those must be truly brilliant ones, because in my experience, what you leave in is pure GOLD!

As hard as writing can be, editing can be even more of a challenge.
I always *think* they're brilliant when I write them. Comes the dawn, though.....;-)
