I love this story, Scott.

Nash certainly had a conflicted life. A hobo in his late 20's, he was 47 when he 'found' The Golden Rule within the scriptures that he had read most of his life. I think that his story has two messages - definitely to live by The Golden Rule... and it's never too late to make The Golden Rule the way you live your life.

Thank you for this inspiration. Good for business. Good for life.

Great essay Scott! 👏 Wonderful to read your review of Nash. There are countless case studies of businesses run on an ESO open-book model that perform fabulously. But it's always the character of the leaders that drive the HR strategy, and most people who seek positions of power are narcissists. Sad.

What a wonderful story, Scott. It reminds me of the lesson taught in the book "The Dash." Although I admit to rarely reflecting on its message, "What have you done with the dash?", perhaps it is time I do so -- and what a better time than now at the cusp of a new year. Thanks for the nudge your story gave me.
