The point is well taken on the Timeless and Timely as I tend to focus on the overall situation of the history of humankind with facts not all encompassing the current President of only the USA. As far as most corrupt the intellectual injustice is your words "the most corrupt president ever to hold it" is more of a biased opinion as you will have to name what crimes have been committed while in office and proven guilty of any crime as there are none, so your comment is opinion only and no basis of facts. I have too much respect for you to agree with you as then we would both be wrong! Appreciate the open and candid discussion as Ronald Regan and Tip O'Neill use to do is to openly bander but at the end of the day sit and have some drinks together and try to keep the Kind in the word Humankind as God would want for all his children and wish we could have more of that as I am sure you would want! Peace, Joe
Yes to civil dialogue and debate, Joe! Reagan and O’Neill were part of the old guard where there was still a sense of amicability and a willingness to work together across the aisle. That’s been missing since Newt Gingrich blew it all up in the mid-1990s.
Corruption itself is not a crime; there is no statute on the books that lists it. And his corruption is so vast and rampant, it’s overwhelming to document it. He is acting unethically and with a complete disdain for established norms and laws.
But I’ll give you a few:
- Setting up the board of the Kennedy Center with cronies, and single-handed renaming the center — an institution that was established by a Congressional act and can only be changed by another Congressional act.
- Sitting in the Supreme Court as one of his cases was being heard, as if to send a message to “his” justices (as he has called them), as a mob boss would do.
- Starting a war with another country without the approval required, as laid out in the Constitution.
- Giving insider information to his sons (among others) that allows them to make trades on the open market and to make deals with foreign entities.
- Suing his own IRS and then trying to settle the suit for $10B. Blatant conflict of interest.
- Ripping up the White House without any review by Congress, historical commissions or independent architects.
- No-bid contracts on the Ballroom and Reflecting Pool.
- Putting supremely unqualified candidates in charge of agencies (Rubio leading Archives? Pulte with no experience in national security?)
- Going extra lengths to hide the Epstein files, in violation of the law.
- He has been repeatedly shot down by judges who have found various moves by his administration to be unconstitutional — not to mention his attack on the 14th Amendment. For a guy who swore to uphold and defend the Constitution, he sure violates a lot of it.
- Withholding aid (food and healthcare) from certain third world countries unless they sign over rights to their rare minerals to the U.S.
I could go on, but 1) it’s exhausting and 2) I don’t even have the full list.
The American Bar Association — far more familiar with the law than I am — has a good piece on it, if you’re interested in learning more:
I appreciate the discourse and my points exactly as these are acquisitions that if merit of a criminal nature he would be brought up on criminal charges. Here is the bottom line is he indeed the most corrupt President as you claim of all times. It is a waste of your exceptional intelligence with undue hatred not simply distaste. What is the ultimate goal to expose our current President in some way yet not effectively recognized by proper authorities as again criminal. Throughout history God has used less than perfect people to accomplish his goals. We are at an impasse in this country and the world and it’s our individual responsibility to do what is morally and ethically right and pray for others to do so too. If a person like Socrates focused on the less than admirable people of his time would he had advanced Philosophy. Don’t let hatred rob you of the bigger goal to advance the Greater Good.
Scott as usual your content is spot on and brings up good points. I know your dislike for a certain current President skews your bias at times and may only voice one opinion unlike other examples that politics has some you noted that was clearly a violation of the office. I would have left it alone or brought up other Presidents that were actually brought up on far egregious charges actually related to the office while in office and more direct not of a biased nature. Much like the line from that quote that was noted as it is more descriptive and not scientific as other animals do blush. Chickens (domestic fowl / hens) - studies report facial skin redness that varies with emotion/situation (“blushing” terms used in research), sometimes alongside head/feather displays.
Lappet-faced vultures - the head skin reddens during agonistic interactions (a facial redness change associated with affective state).
Blue-and-yellow macaws and sulphur-crested cockatoos - described as reddening on the cheeks during positive interactions with a caretaker. I will concur with you as these days not unlike other times in human history there is little owning up for crimes of various degrees that should be recognized and corrected in oneself and by others in an advanced society not applauded as acceptable. Judges 21:25 :
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes. So be in in Israel in "those days" or today unless we seek God as the Ultimate Good we are too doing what is right in our own lives...and lies! Always a pleasure, Pax Tecum!
I had no idea about the changes in animal skin based on blood flow! Fascinating development (one that Twain may not have foreseen).
As to the presidency, yes, there have been instances of corruption in previous administrations. Grant got caught up in it; I have a copy of The Teapot Dome Scandal: How Big Oil Bought the Harding White House and Tried to Steal the Country on my bookshelf; Watergate from the ‘70s and Iran-Contra from the ‘80s/’90s certain looms large… But ultimately, this is Timeless & Timely, and one can’t ignore the current holder of the office — and the most corrupt president ever to hold it. To do so would be intellectually dishonest, wouldn’t you agree?

Every accusation is an admission done with equal parts pride in their actions and irony.
