Today marks Independence Day in the United States. We celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence — one of America’s founding documents — even though the signing wasn’t complete until as late as 1777.
While it was written by Thomas Jefferson, it was partially influenced by another Thomas — Thomas Paine.
