And who to thank

We are where we are because of the influence, help, and love of others.

Some of it has been institutional: things like running water, electricity, and the internet.

Some of it has been the result of the creative geniuses of individuals—although they too were beneficiaries of others.

And some of it was because of family, friends, and communities that gave us the love and assistance we needed.
