Welcome to the inaugural issue of Sunday Journal., a chance to start your week out with short, quiet reflections and advice for life.
This effort started with a handwritten journal I keep for each of my children, designed to give them a sense of how to become the best version of themselves.
If you know someone who could benefit from this, please share this with them and invite them to join us here.
Reflections:
Our attitude is our responsibility.
When something sparks your interest, lean in. Learning doesn’t stop because of age, titles, or discomfort.
Be more intentional about capturing ideas. Quotes, insights, questions—and put them in one place. It’s a system that pays dividends over time.
Treat every day as a second chance. Don’t wait for a life-altering moment to appreciate what you already have.
Learn to say yes to the roles that stretch you, not just the ones that pay the most.
Trust is sacred. Strive to build relationships where trust isn’t just given—it’s preserved.
Quote:
“Early merchant bankers used character and class as crude forms of credit screening. Ever since the Medicis and Fuggers, it was a practical way for private bankers to protect their precious capital base.” — Ron Chernow, The House of Morgan
